So, I've been experimenting with Google's custom search gadget to create a hyper-local search engine for Dublin, Georgia sites. If I simply go to a search engine and type in something like "dublin, georgia websites" I'll get several hundred thousand useless results. Most of the sites that pop up are travel-related companies offering discounts on bed and breakfast stays and the like.
What we need is a search engine that only indexes sites which are verified to be from the good 'ol 31021 and contain real content. I will continue to maintain this search engine by adding (and deleting if necessary) websites as they are brought to my attention. The mission is to create the most comprehensive search engine of real websites from Dublin, Georgia.
Search results will show up in a new window for now, but I'm working on incorporating them into this site and modifying the look and feel as well.
